As I saw it, on that most special of special days, i would have narrated my first paragraph a little differently but then, maybe, that moment wasn't as special for you.

As I straddled the great wildness of her Continental Divide, i realized i was in Unknown Territory and I knew that this was as remote as it gets. Her Rubenesque landscape was swathed by supple white mounds and pink folds, secret nooks, turgid peaks and inviting spaces known only to a lucky few. The scene was spread before me as my mind thought only of rainbows, colored flowers and mice. I guess I could have been considered high [...]

There are several troglodyte hotels to choose from in Matmata, but if you want the most authentic Star Wars experience you should check out the Hotel Sidi Driss.

It's a new season in Guatemala.
The Robert Stewart party of five fished on the "Intensity" with Capt. Chris Sheeder, 06 thru 08 Nov with excellent results:
06 Nov - 24-18-12 released
07 Nov - 14-11-7 released
08 Nov - 51-44-24 released
Three day total of 89 raised, 73 bites and 43 released. A great start to the new season.
Phil Rusconi party fishing yesterday on the "Finest Kind" with Capt. Chico Alvarenga, 28-19, released 13 sails. Phil Rusconi finished his trip yesterday with another 29-10 and 8 fly caught and released sails.
His two day total: 57-29-21, 8 of which were on flies.
Remember to keep watching this page for updates as we get them. Casa Vieja Lodge is the number one facility with the largest fleet in Guatemala, operating from the safe and secure Marina Pez Vela, and adjacent to the cruise terminal.

Capt. Sheeder reports:

Roy Cronacher decided to spend a week fishing Nov. 13th through the 19th with his buddies Don McIntosh, from the Bahamas, Terry West, from North Carolina, and Erich Rscher from Germany. The group raised 87 Sailfish and two Blue Marlin, catching 48 sails in total aboard the RumLine.
The 20th through the 22nd Jim Turner and his band of anglers took over on the RumLine to not only participate, but win the 2009 Presidential Challenge of Guatemala. The team, consisting of Jim, Juan Anon, from Colorado, and Jairo DeLeon, from here in Guatemala, ended day one in third place and stepped forward every day there on out finishing day three releasing 40 Sails and a Blue Marlin.
Oh and by the way, for all of you wondering when you should be here, well... the last two days, fishing with Steve Fanscy we've raised 174 Sails and 3 Blue Marlin, catching 84 Sails and a Blue at 325lbs. And he's here by himself!!!...with no one else fishing any of the other boats. More to come... Fishing is RED HOT RIGHT NOW!!!

Yes, since this article was written, all luggage is re-x-rayed at La Aurora Intl. Airport upon arrival. Why X-ray it after it arrives is beyond me? We advise our anglers to check their reels and flies in both directions - no hassles like what occured in the article.
